Situated at the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, sits Soundworks Birmingham, a newly renovated Recording Studio and Music Production Facilty.
Spread over 1,200 sq ft, we have developed a site that contains a large reception, lounge, communal and chill out area, along with two main studio spaces as follows:

Studio 1
Studio 1 is our main recording facility, comprising a spacious control room and a fully isolated live room, purpose-built for professional audio production.
The studio has been acoustically designed and aesthetically finished to provide accurate sound reproduction while also creating a warm, comfortable, and inspiring creative environment for artists and producers.
Each room is constructed within a brick-built shell, with independent, acoustically isolated wall systems incorporating high-mass boarding, acoustic insulation, and absorption layers on both sides. The studio is built using a full “room-within-a-room” construction method, including an isolated floor and a decoupled false ceiling, to minimise airborne and structure-borne sound transmission.
Following construction, additional surface acoustic treatment was installed to fine-tune the internal acoustics. This includes a balanced combination of acoustic panels, absorbers, diffusers, and bass traps, ensuring controlled, accurate sound while maintaining a comfortable and creative atmosphere.
Some of the Equipment and software used:
Focusrite Scarlett interfaces
Audient ID interfaces
Neumann Microphones
Aston Microphones
Cubase & Logic DAW
Native, UAD Plugins
ICON P1-M control surfaces
Mac Mini platforms
Roland Digital Pianos
Marshall Amplification
Natal Drums
Various outboard rack gear
and much more…

Studio 2
Studio 2 is a more compact studio, designed to the same construction and acoustic standards as Studio 1, while offering a more intimate and focused creative space.
Like Studio 1, the room is built within a brick-built shell using an independent room-within-a-room construction method, including acoustically isolated walls, a built-up insulated floor, and a decoupled false ceiling. The wall assemblies incorporate high-mass boarding, acoustic insulation, and absorption layers to provide effective sound isolation and acoustic control.
Studio 2 has been acoustically designed and aesthetically finished to deliver accurate sound reproduction while maintaining a warm, cosy, and comfortable atmosphere, making it particularly well suited to music production lessons, solo vocal recording, and individual instrumental sessions, as well as general recording and production work.
The completed structure is enhanced with surface acoustic treatment, including acoustic panels, absorbers, diffusers, and bass traps, carefully positioned to optimise the internal sound while preserving an inviting and creative working environment.

General Areas
Our communal areas and reception space have been thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming, relaxed environment for artists, students, parents, and visitors.
The reception and waiting areas offer a comfortable space to relax before or between sessions, with a calm, professional atmosphere that reflects the creative focus of the studios. The layout functions equally well as a waiting area, meeting point, or informal breakout space.
These shared areas form an important part of the overall studio experience, providing a smooth transition between the outside world and the focused, creative environments within the studios.
